Nancy Perrett

Registered Nurse, retired

Nancy is a retired registered nurse. She first met the Bedards in 1978, and when she learned of their dental missions to third world countries she decided to join them. After semi-retiring, Nancy went with the Bedards on her first DFA mission to Nicaragua; she enjoyed it so much that she continued every year until 2015. On her first mission, Nancy trained to help as a dental assistant. As the clinics grew larger and more dental professionals came along on the missions, Nancy moved into sterilizing the dental equipment, setting up the gift table, recording statistics of the procedures done, and other general duties. Her variety of roles with DFA also gave Nancy an opportunity to chat with the locals, making new friends in the many interesting communities where she travelled and among the volunteers.

I enjoyed my time at these missions immensely and I have many good memories.
