Eugene spent 35 years as a teacher and school administrator. He got involved with DFA through his friendship with Dr. Dennis Bedard. Originally he helped with sterilizing dental instruments, but was soon promoted to acting as a dental assistant. Eugene has made 6 trips with DFA, travelling both to Guatemala and Nicaragua and working at DFA clinics in impoverished rural areas. Eugene views his work with Dennis and Bev Bedard as a blessing, and he was touched both by their sincere dedication to the poor, and their ability to work in some very trying situations and in debilitating heat without complaint.
