Steve is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has made four trips with DFA to El Remate, Guatemala. He graduated from Laval University dental school in 1992, and was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, where he served in the Balkans in 1995. Following his time in the military, Steve specialized in oral and maxillofacial surgery, training at the University of Manitoba and the University of Washington. Along with his volunteer stints with DFA, Steve has also volunteered in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Steve has been practicing in Calgary since 2001.
